Our client purchased this property in 2011 for the location and view. When they bought the home they knew changes would have to be made to meet their lifestyle needs and to get that contemporary feel that is their style. Having a large family who enjoys entertaining, an open floor plan was a top priority for the socializing aspect of their lives. In previous homes, they were able to bring the outdoors inside and the orientation of the home allowed for them to enjoy evening sunsets. Finding a solution in this home to capture these views along with the golf course, trees, and outdoor living space was also a necessity. By making these improvements our customer would successfully transform this existing property into their own.

With the scope of the project clearly defined, we designed a floor plan to meet their needs. This plan included combining the great room, kitchen, and dinette areas to open up the space. We removed a wall between the great room and kitchen to open up the floor plan. Two structural beams were installed in the ceiling to support the roof. In the basement we added two footings, two steel columns, and a steel beam to support the change in structure. A fireplace in the existing dinette area was removed to make way for a 12 foot wide window. This window acts as a picture frame to the outside world they enjoy so much.
